There is no mention of the existence of the Barclaycard Amex/Visa duo cards anywhere on their website.
Does anybody know if it is still possible to exchange an existing Barclaycard Platinum for this product?

I can confirm that it is possible to product change your Barclaycard to the Amex/Visa duo Cashback ones, but it seems to depend from what specific card you currently got. You also need to go through an internal approval process as I gather that they do not officially offer this card to new members as cashback schemes have become notoriously less profitable. In any case, it needs to be done over the phone and it takes a fair bit of time for it to become effective and the new cards issued.0

I managed to change to the cashback duo but only after six months. I phoned and they looked on their screen and said that card was now available to me.0

yes, it can take a while. they made me wait at one stage.
fwiw i cut the Amex card up.. and just use the Barclaycard as occasional American Express backup at the moment.0 -
Hi,
I swapped over last week to the Cash Back card from an Initial Visa, i was pre-qualified based on conduct history.
All I've done is pay back higher than minimum amount for the last 6 months and they upgraded, they also increased my credit limit at the same time but that was a separate application.
I'm sure if you do the same they'll upgrade, i really don't think they use external scores or reports and just solely go on your performance with them.
Hope this helps.0 -
Hi All
I have a Barclaycard Visa and American Express Card
Both cash back
Visa 1/2%
American Express 1%
Both appear on same statement0 -
I have had an Initial for the last year - although not because I struggled to get credit, just because there was a cashback offer at the time. I didn't spend a lot on it and repaid in full by DD. They seem happy enough as they increased my limit twice in that time.
As it happens I just called today to transfer it to a cashback dual card. I had to phone (which I don't really like doing...) but it only took about 5 minutes.
So it is still available to existing customers; you might as well ask them!0 -

Whenever you want - you request payment of the cashback online, it appears on your next statement.0
