How do I know???

Options
Back in early March 2016 I did an on line PPI claim to Nationwide Building Soc.
Have yet to get a written reply, in spite of several phone calls, was told letters have been sent, each saying I have no claim.
How can I be sure these letters have not been sent to one of my previous mortgaged addresses or sent at all???
They have said that they have been addressed to my present address.
How can I be sure they are telling me the truth both with regard to letters and that I have no PPI claim?????
I have definitely been previously lied to by the Nationwide on a different matter.

R.

After making your complaint, you should get a letter within a few days acknowledging your complaint and outlining the complaints process.

Then you should get a letter telling you the outcome. Depending on the timescales involved to investigate the complaint, there may be a number of holding letters issued.

So, that is a lot of letters going out potentially.

Have you verified the address with Nationwide?

As per. my post I have had not received any written correspondence of any kind to date.
Yes I have by phone made them aware of my current address.

Even if you had the letters, your complaint has still failed. If you remain dissatisfied, you can refer your complaint to the Ombudsman.

    Thanks.
That may be so but how do I know they are not just giving me the run around??????
As I said they have lied to me before on another quite serious matter that amounted to actual fraud.

If you think you Nationwide has defrauded you, that is a matter for the Police.

However, such a course is very unlikely (it can have career limiting implications!).

If you complained more than eight weeks ago and have not yet received a response which you consider satisfactory then you can go to the Financial Ombudsman Service. This is the case regardless of whether the response is one that is not one that you consider acceptable or because you have received no response at all.

"That's not now an option because I called their bluff and they decided to see things my way."

The only response was a verbal denial that I have PPI with them as a result of me phoning them to complain at not getting any response.
Thanks. Sounds like good positive advice.

I submitted a claim on line direct to Nationwide (in connection with a Nationwide Mortgage long since ended). I have no idea if I have or have not ever been sold PPI.

Thanks to all that have taken the trouble to reply.

So, you made a complaint about a product you may or may not have had and cannot recall ever being sold.

Do you have old bank statements? if you had MPPI, then most are monthly direct debit separate from the mortgage (which is one of the reasons most MPPI complaints fail). So, they would appear on the statement if that is the case.
