I had done the move a long long time ago - from Camden High Street to Telegraph Hill, and never looked back since :)

South London has a completely different vibe, in my opinion a lot more relaxed and down to earth, and I just love it here. It is true that not having a tube makes traveling more complicated and slow. You will have to learn to plan your journey ahead before leaving your house, so that you won't have to wait at the station or at the bus stop for ages. Print out your train times or get an app like citymapper and you will soon get used to it :)

    Good luck with your move!

Ah, but none of us have recommended Charlton (though parts of it do pass themselves off as Blackheath).

Charlton is okay but I wouldn't wanna spend that sort of money there. Far nicer places.
