New boiler help

I have a new A rated boiler. Is it more energy efficient for myself, to leave the boiler on in standby mode. This one has a LED display. Option two, switch off boiler totally when out of use.
I am a bit thick with this.
Any advice on this would be great.

Switch off standby mode unless your house is enormous. I think that is to heat a little water constantly, so that there is not long to wait when you run the hot tap, isn't it?0

What is the make/model of boiler and what do you mean standby mode?
Are you suggesting that you power it down when you are not in the house (turn it off like a TV) rather than leave it powered on but not supplying heat?0 -
Yes sort of turn off like the TV. Make is Ideal Logic Combi 30.0

You would save about £5 per year by turning the boiler off for 12 hours every day of the year. And...that's assuming the circuitry including the LED's uses 10W.
The hassle involved in going to the boiler twice a day and switching it on/off would not be worth it....in my opinion.
Compared the the kW used when it's actually in use the amount saved in negligible.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Thank you for that information. Yes I agree more trouble than its worth to switch it on and off all the time. I can afford £5 per year in standby mode.
Thanks for the help.0
