ok what happens to the thousands of people on win 7/8 who are getting persistant nagging screens and files dumped on their machines?
will the nagging stop? , will the d/loaded files be deleted , or will win 10 d/load and hold the users to ranson for 80 odd quid with a big nagging screen and possible reboots ?Save a Rachael

Excellent:
Perhaps after that date Microsh*t will stop dumping all this endless nagware on win 7 users to upgrade every month with new KB's or re-issues of old KB which you have previously blocked which now appear again.
I wonder, does the claimed 300 million Win10 include those who upgraded to win10 and then in despair downgraded back to win 7 or 8.
Sorry - silly me - of course the figures do
That's why they describe them as 300 million "active devices" rather than an installed userbase.
So here is a message from me to MS
Yes I have considered
No i do not want to
Yes I want you to stop nagging me

Everyone must install Linux Mint!0

Will Microsoft start charging everybody a yearly subscription fee in order to keep providing Windows 10 updates then?0

Yes, I see a move to a subscription model of some form. Maybe security updates only free and then pay for program updates.....which in turn will be essential to run the latest software, which will turn into a general yearly subscription.
Maybe they will push advertisements to the non payers and those who pay up will become ad-free, Maybe they are looking to get money from sponsored searches through enforcing you to use their search engine.
Maybe also through the windows app store they are looking to make the OS with a wall round it like Apple one and you have of course to pay to get things from the app store. Anything else will be declared a "security risk" and blocked.
Adobe is clearly already half way down that road of a subscription model. I foresee them ceasing their purchase and install and use forever versions.
Perhaps eventually a return to the early days of computing (as I was used to) with dumb terminals/display units at the user end controlled by supercomputer mainframes with all the computing power at the centre and pay by the minute for what you use.0 -

What about those people who have PURCHASED outright a Windows 10 DVD and installed it? Are they going to be charged for security or programme updates?

Perhaps I would upgrade if they didn't remove features in every upgrade.
Windows Media Center works fine on Windows 7. Why would I upgrade and lose that?Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -
It's amazing how many people actually believe the rubbish about MS charging for W10 updates............A view invented by people with either no imagination or way, way too much.;)Drinking Rum before 10am makes you
