RBS 0% Balance Transfers

Received a letter from RBS yesterday offering me 0% on balance transfers until August 2008 with a 2% fee.
Problem is I don't have any credit card balances to transfer! I want to take advantage of the 0% though, what's the best way? Is there any way of getting the money into my current account by claiming I have an overdraft or loan balance?

RBS can only do transfers to other credit cards or store cards... best idea for you is to open another credit card (egg money) and do the BT to there (to push the other card into a positive balance)... see stoozing thread for more info:cool:0

I am holding onto my new RBS card for 6m before I do a BT as the 2% fee then no longer applies.Ethical moneysaver0

Just phoned them and they confirmed that they wont do a balance transfer for an overdraft.
Can't work out why not really, as MINT, part of RBS, do allow overdraft balance transfers.0 -
They will, but only in the form of a 'money transfer' - and not at 0%.Just phoned them and they confirmed that they wont do a balance transfer for an overdraft.
Mint "allow" them by issuing 0% 'transfer and save' cheques, which you can then pay into your current account. Can't work out why not really, as MINT, part of RBS, do allow overdraft balance transfers.0
