On the other hand, a truly top-spec machine could set you back well over £3000, as shown in the link that Pappa Golf supplied.


There is absolutely no point in anyone even attempting to give meaningful advice until you can tell us what you intend to use it for. If you just want to surf t'interweb and knock up a few Word documents then the cheapest one available will be more than adequate. If you want to be playing the very latest fast-paced games, doing CAD design and serious heavy-duty video editing then you'll need a totally different spec.
