Is there any guidance on what is considered extortionate for insurance? Just found out (Buried my head in the sand regarding debt and money and never ever checked my statements) that RBS Insurance have been taking £134 per month off me for insurance for the last four years (I know, I know!! I was in denial about my financial situation and couldn't take control until now) that I could have got from themselves as a new customer for £20 per month. Do you think there is anyway I could reclaim this or is this (as I suspect), my own stupid fault? *runs off crying*

Not a lot you can do really, at least you have realised your mistake and rectified it going forward.0

You could try a polite letter, keep it as concise as possible and try not to be to emotional or too threatening eg your entire family will cease dealing with them.
It's worth a try and may result in a token refund, it might even be the case they made a mistake and this brings it to their attention0
