Ok so I'm new to this if I'm in wrong place please advise me.
Didn't book travel insurance when I booked my hols last October and 3 weeks ago I was rushed into hospital with stomach pains turns out its gallstones and need my gallbladder removed. I have tried to get travel ins for my holiday to Florida in September but most won't insure me and the one that did costs me £1200. I always get insurance straight away but don't know why I didn't just laziness tbh. Can anyone suggest anything apart from having my gallbladder removed before hand but you know what nhs waiting lists are like. HELP!!!! Please :money:

You may be able to get accident and injury cover only but full health cover when awaiting surgery is unlikely.0

You should speak to your Doctors about this. Perhaps they might say that you should not travel within x amount of time, after such an operation.
The travel company you booked with might be able to move your booking or offer a refund. The closer you to leave it until September, the less you will get in any cancellation refund if available.
No point buying Insurance now, as you don't appear to know enough about your situation. If the Doctors find an operation in a couple of weeks, you might be able to then buy Insurance after this and travel as planned. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -

And there's no way in Hell you should ever travel to the US without medical cover - especially as it sounds like the OP will be at a higher risk of medical complications.
The best advice I could give would be to try and delay the holiday until after you've recovered (even if it involves large fees - who is it with?), then it will be much easier to find an insurer. If the doctors are confident the issue is "resolved", it shouldn't be too hard to find an insurer who would cover you for everything else bar the gall bladder issue for a reasonable cost.0 -
You don't have travel insurance packaged into something like a bank account?0

No checked that today. Going to ask hospital for possible timeline for op. Not only is pain bad but the worry on top is worse. It's my 25th wedding anniversary so don't really want to postpone. It's driving me crazy but thanks for all input0
