I've been caught out with Smart Price stuff in the past savvy......some of it is really good quality and, you are right....often healthier with less salt and sugars...but some of it is dire_pale__pale_....just my opinion.:)

For the difference in price I wouldn't actively choose SP ice cream I don't think

Cheap ice cream is just plain nasty, in my opinion.
It needn't even have any milk in it, unless it is specifically labelled as Dairy on the pack.

The article is from 2014 and hasn't been superseded as far as I know.

The good news is we are safer with Ben and Jerrys. :D

just had my ipint (cos) refused as claimed already, i assume this was because i had used it on cs

Same receipt with different items? Otherwise yes it would get rejected for claiming the same item on the same receipt as the system checks that. If more than one C4rling bought on the receipt, contact them to appeal.

Difference between select and late saver prices

Late savers - can be good if you are happy with a Gaurantee cabin - you get your cabin number a few weeks before sailing, you just choose inside, outside or balcony
Also if you don't mind when you eat - its pot luck if you get 1st or 2nd sitting but you could always use the buffet or do select dining.
You don't get any on board credit or free port parking
You pay for shuttle buses - but not every port needs a shuttle bus anyway, sometimes the berth is right in town and most places have taxis anyway

Select price - choose your cabin, choose your dining, get OBC or port parking or coach connection to port, eligible for upgrades, free shuttle buses

Often if you book far enough ahead the difference between the fares is only £100 or so in which case you might as well go for select because you might get £70, £80 or £100 etc of OBC - you can use this on your ship towards your bar bill or towards a shore excursion or in the shops etc

I've had last minite saver deals, booked in November and we went in January and we had no problems but it can be a bit of a gamble - you won't be able to change your cabin but sometimes you can change your dining.

If you can travel within a month then there are some good late deals but only if you are not fussy

    Any questions just ask :)
you can also use tesco clubcard points (x3) against select price if far enough in advance. i got £810 off

    Anyone please ?
I see MHOC has given you a good answer. In addition, P&O dont do drink packages, but they are one of the few lines that allow you to take your own drink on board, and drinks on the ship are reasonably priced.

I have always managed to change my dining options when I have wanted to. I always go saver, but what MHOC said about booking early is also true. Depends if you want a few cabins together or not really.
If you have a spare few grand about, get 100 Carnival shares a few month before booking, and they give you free on board credit. I wanted to buy 3-4 year ago, dithered, and now I think they are 3 times the price, grrr!!
End of the day, you will love it!!

Rhubarb crumple I promised TM ages ago!

    800g rhubarb
    150g plain flour
    200g demerara sugar
75g dried cranberries (I usually add a few more)
1tsp ground ginger (a little chopped stem ginger in the rhubarb is nice too)
    175g unsalted butter
    50g rolled oats
50g chopped walnuts (I usually add a few more)

Preheat the oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6. Select a baking dish about 2 litre · 3½ pt capacity

Cut the rhubarb into 3cm · 1¼ in pieces and toss in a large bowl with a tablespoon of flour, half the sugar and the dried cranberries.
Arrange the rhubarb mixture over the base of the dish. Place the flour, ginger, remaining sugar and butter in the bowl of a food processor and whiz briefly until the mixture starts to cling together in large crumbs, taking care not to go beyond this otherwise it will form a dough.
Transfer the crumble to a bowl and mix in the oats and nuts. Scatter this mixture over the fruit. Bake for 35-40 minutes until the top is golden and crisp and the juices are bubbling. Leave the crisp to cool for 20 minutes before serving.

DD has just reminded me it was 5 years ago today that we went to see Elton John. Same weather too, it was blooming freezing sitting in that football stadium waiting, then suddenly he came on stage and the weather was forgotten...

That was the night I fell in love with Nigel Olsson - I've never seen anyone so happy.

Should be Avs T, or vs M:eek:. Don't think vs S as S price will probably have dropped off the APG.

    http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/tesco-price-comparison/Flour/Laila_Light_Atta_Medium_Flour_10Kg.html

So, I'm now moving to Avs M (although probably vs T) and maybe deleting the East End version off as no 10%.

EDIT: Is this going to work at all? It seems only to have come onto a.com in the last few days, as I had it before as 'buy in T', so may have no competitor data for it in the system at all.

I don't think I can find fault with that comparison. Not at the moment anyway:rotfl:.

Is that Beef Mince - says it is "Typically Less Than 20% Fat" the lean one though or the 'almost' 20% fat one? Looks like it's comparing against the 20% Fat one at M at £2 each. Lean in M - 10% fat - looks like it's £3 and 2 for £5.50. No good anyway, as already more than 10% cheaper:rotfl::doh:.

No idea - it was a womble ;)
