Whilst the people of other religions will not knuckle down to what is our right to celebrate birthdays etc

If our traditions upset them that much why don't they build and fund their own schools
Or just ignore it if they don't like it .....as there is plenty of things I don't agree with in different religions and countries but I do not protest about them ..I accept that people are entitled to their own opinions

Do you think these countries would not celebrate their traditions if we lived in their countries and it offended us

Now I am not wishing to upset any religion from Catholics to buddists

and all the rest of the religions

But we need to get a back bone and put a stop to all of this and Happy Holidays for Xmas

We don't protest when other religions want to celebrate their traditions
And we should uphold all of our traditions and ceremonies after all

we do have a Lady as our head of state and long may she rule

Good morning everyone. Popped in for a quick catch up and underperky's post caught my eye...

I think Brits shouldn't feel like they shouldn't be celebrating Queen's birthday. I mean, why shouldn't you? I came to live in UK 17 years ago and always loved 'events' like this. I'm not British but like to wish Queen a happy birthday, just like I would wish anyone a happy birthday! I'm Japanese, born a Buddist now an atheist... I accept other people's beliefs. I accept differences.

Good points well raised.

I do think that an element of the British psychy is to constantly be negative about ourselves and put other people's customs/thoughts/feelings before our own, rather than actually acknowledge that we are really fab and that our customs/thoughts/feelings should be at least equal, if not prioritised within the UK.

Anyone know if Morrison's sell Amazon gift cards? Need to make a major purchase and trying to soften the blow a bit, if possible. I don't have a Morrison's on my doorstep to check but will travel to nearest in hope of I know they do usually. Or v3 cards, or whatever they call them now?

Have not been on, even lurking, for over a year! Life has been mental but hoping to get some time soon to catch up and get back in the swing of it. Been so bad this past while I've not even remembered to load my receipts for cos or shop(?)

Thank you nannylala. Main colours red next is dark blue, mid green, cream and a fawn colour lol. Sounds hideous but it's not lol. Or I could be mse and just paint it the antique cream that I already have as probably enough left
