I've thought about granite a lot but really though it would not be worth it, I doubt if we will be living in this house long enough to appreciate it so it would be the next owners who would get the value out of it.
plus my OH is very slapdash, always chucking hot tea spoons on the works surface. Our current work surface by the kettle is very marked with hot rings. also OH has a new annoying habit. he has taken to eating cornflakes but he cant get them all in the bowl so he leaves mess on the work surface and then just leaves it  he has no idea why this new habit is driving me bonkers.
so sadly its going to have to be cheap and cheerful for me
That was why we were ok with the expense mhoc, we are not intending to move. Mr TS wanted to sell up and use my inheritance to move elsewhere but we compromised as I didn't want to lose another home.I have lots of happy memories here. :A And I can't take the money with me so I just as well enjoy it.
It's actually not been too hard to keep clean been using them couple of weeks now, just a damp cloth, the important thing is I have to make sure I dry it after otherwise it leaves watermarks. :eek:0 -

I remember years ago in some of the other threads I used to frequent people slamming me for having that exact same mindset....and I have a friend who on the face of it should be a kindred spirit but actually she is a scrimper too far even by my standards.
In some ways thats why I did connect with the elite as I think we are a lot more focused on getting a deal rather than getting the cheapest if that makes sense.
HG...I've been meaning to say and keep forgetting that next time your parents in Law need some decorating count me in....the teas sound wonderful!0 -
Savvybuyer wrote: »Dove Oxygen Hair Spray now not in many Ms that I'm coming across - I changed the list after Monday to say I was now thinking price collectors might go N/A:(. Although I have no proof, it will definitely be available in an M somewhere at £1.75 (as opposed to A's £6.99:eek:) - EDIT: it's even on m.com - so take a screenshot of that and complain - I saw it only last week so if I were able to visit the right store again I think it would still be there. This suggests it is in at least two Ms - and I suspect there will be many more than that - judging by the time since the RTC started, and the fact that I've only just lost it from a set of similar number of stores to what I believe the APG uses - I reckon probably still in about 50 stores (out of 500) if not more than that, and I'm sure we could get reports from people saying it is in their M, beyond the one I've seen only the other week and the other one (Leamington) that I reckon m.com is based on. It looks like it's gone from the collection stores:(. Boursin picking up incorrect full price as reported by Sal earlier - they must have more Ms that hadn't changed their SELs. And Crisp N Dry - they managed to pick Ms that still have full price showing on the shelf:(.
So, much more expensive than if you'd shopped at M (and got one where you could have bought the Dove Oxygen Spray), not 10% cheaper and unable to guarantee it at all:(:(.
Here's my own view, from Monday, and I have no change to make on this (although I might now change it to say that it has failed - which probably means, if they had it before, it will now never return as it's cleared out of the collection stores and unlikely to come back to those stores - possible they could find some stock, bring it out suddenly and put a SEL up on some random week in the future but we'd never know, if it returned, when).
Dove Advanced Hair Series Oxygen Moisture Root Lift Spray (150ml)
£1.75 £1.17 / 100ml
£6.29 any 2 for £7.00
[Strike]£6.00[/Strike]
£4.00 [TBG should be a fail - it's RTC in M. Clearly some offers are better than others:rotfl:.]
£6.99

EDIT: Crisp N Dry not picked up - do you mean returning N/A or picking up £3.50 full price for M? TIA.
Picking up full price Savvy:(

Could anyone help me with the carling please. DS2 coming tomorrow so I bought the 4 pack for COS which has been claimed with no problem but I am having problems with the 4 pack rewards. It doesn't like my code so I have had to send a query to ipint.
Is this normal? It doesn't say code already used just that it doesn't recognise it.
Only been collecting from ipint on the rare occasion I have won a 4 pack. Still have some carling cider from last year so expect ds2 will be drinking that.
TIA
V x
Please double check you are putting in the correct code as the letter can sometime be hard to read as I've had this problem0 -
Didn't buy a new fridge either as eventually want a fridge freezer, I'm guessing you can get them in black too, that would probably bring it all together . I couldn't see the point of getting new white goods when these still worked ok, both freezers are out in garage for now. What's the betting this fridge goes on for ever and a day as I don't really want it. :rotfl:
That kitchen looks fantabulous TS, I am sure you will get many happy years out of it
As for white goods going on too long, I want to change the microwave. It must be about 15 or more years old, and it is massive as I used to cook full meals in it, it is way too big now and I have other ideas about where it will go when I get a smaller one, but it keeps going, and going, and going ...........
Of course if I could get an extremely cheap one it would be differentWhat is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
