it was a while back (1999) but won 10k worth of holidays which were tailor made for me - I went to Singapore and stayed in the Oriental, went from there on the Eastern and Oriental express-through Malaysia stopping in Penang and Bridge over river Quai. Then through to Bankok and stayed in the Shangri-La and then on to Phuket and stayed Dusit laguna.
There was spending money and enough holiday over to take six of us to Tenerife all inclusive too XXX
Did you know Thomas Cook have a whole department that only book holidays for competition winners (well they did then) ;)

I was very lucky to be upgraded to a suite on the Eastern and Oriental- probably as I was in my new linen suit (English and their holiday clothes) and the germans were practically in their lederhosen lol x

Marvellous, it brings back so many memories thinking of all the places.. I have just arranged a holiday for my manager as she is only thirty something and single again so wanted to holiday alone.
I originally found a very good one in Domincan Republic going on the dreamliner for just over £600 all inc.but she opted for a safer bet to a greek island, Shirley Valentine style lol xx

I was coming up out of the subway in New York years ago at night and had lost my bearings so randomly stuck my hand on this mans arm and used pleading eyes and lashings of British accent to aid me. He was charming and lovely, walked me to my hotel, asked all about the part of England I lived, me giving him loads of advice about IF he should ever come to London what he should see etc....hours later I realised why I had this nagging sensation I'd met him somewhere before..it was John McEnroe ....

Oh Rose, this made me laugh..Arrested by Guarda Civil....I was kept hostage while hubby went back to the hotel to find his documents.
I sobbed the whole time thinking we were going to be locked up and in the end they were dabbing my face with tissues and rubbing my back, lol. Can laugh about it now but at the time ...........
