Emerald and I had a brief chat about football today and I said there was a certain ground that I would love to go to and not long after I got in tonight I had a phone call from DD2's GF. Guess what, I am now going to that ground next Wednesday:j Suffice to say that I think bargainqueen might be a little bit jealous:rotfl:0

I better go to bed, need to be up at 6am for work. 7 days down, 3 to go _party_
Random side note - I was working at Grand Designs at the beginning of the week, where at the entrance the theme tune is on an 18 second loop, being played for 8.5 hours a day, which equates to exactly 1700 plays. In no way was I bored this week :rotfl:'I solemnly swear that I am up to no good'0 -

You are quite possibly the hardest working person I 'know' You do whatever comes along, give it everything and only ever complain in a jokey way. if I was wearing a hat, I'd take it off to you.
Our young people could learn a lot from you. I'm dismayed at the way society is goingthe sense of entitlement that young people (and some older people) have is so mis-placed.
What I'm trying to say is well done for being you
Not in a gushy way....obviously. In a Vote for PD way :T0 -
I've enjoyed QT tonight. Whatever your flavour of politics Lord Lawson was an awesome politician in his time and it's nice to see him on there.
I'll be :silenced::silenced::silenced: about making 7 year old children go on strike :mad:0 -
So, I am back and, first off, a couple of corrections. I was relying on my memory earlier and my memory, on these occasions, was faulty. I suggested that the Patterson's Shortbread Fingers were 330g in M but 375g in Iceland. In fact the packs in M are 380g so that, purely between M and Iceland, the ones in M would work out better - but only if you are buying in twos. However, still not as good as 180g at 30p. I think I was thinking of the Clotted Cream version - 300g and 2 for £1.50 in M - and thought the 'ordinary' ones were similar weight but in fact they are a bit more.
I also mentioned the Mixers and gave a price of 2 for 90p for M. (I think that must have been on the close of the previous thread as I can't see it near the beginning of this thread.) I was obviously thinking of the 2L soft drinks bottles, but the mixers and the like of course are 2 for 80p in M. Fortunately it seems no-one was caught out as the comp. vs T works out better than vs M.
I'm glad I went to different Ms again on Thursday as, with new stores, you get a different perception. I am now aware that the Christmas Dog Biscuits 500g that were on £1.47 RTC have now gone up in price to £2. I started seeing too many stores with £2 SELs so, eventually, I scanned the item at one of them and, indeed, it has gone up from the last time I checked it in another M several weeks ago. I bet there will be at least one M in which one, or more, of these tins is on the RTC shelf and therefore suggests it has been reduced, which it may have been, from a previous price to £2, but then they went down further and have in fact it seems not been reduced from that but have increased to £2 (even if they are 'reduced' from what they were somewhat before - however that is not, as far as I know, the immediately previous price). However if, having increased in price - obviously they mustn't want to clear them anymore:rotfl: (not to us, anyway!) - they are on somewhere's RTC shelving, that will not be intentional but they will have simply be left there and not moved after the price changed upwards. In my stores they were on the general aisle and not on RTC shelving - however, surely there will be one or more stores that I haven't seen where they may be on the RTC shelves. Anyway, they've gone up in price according to the stock in the M I checked.
Have I found some more 'good' RTCs in M?
Yes, I have. I've also now seen a few of the RTC prices that we already knew about - however I think I have seen a minority of those items and have yet to find most of them. I have now seen Green's Carmelle Mix 70g and Lemon Pie Filling 140g in one M showing the 14p RTC prices. Therefore, they are clearly not store-specific, meaning that they are in more than one M. I assume the earlier reports would not have related to the quite small M where I've found them with those prices on the labels and would have been seen in other Ms. As you know, I like my smaller stores:rotfl:. The smaller Ms provide invaluable additional items that I don't have anywhere else, the same as bigger Ms also provide invaluable additional items for me.
I ended up with five stores yesterday (Thursday) (all different from the day before), rather than the six that were on my original plan. However, I got stuck on the motorway and took over two hours to travel to the next M - that was not supposed to happen:( - should have been about 30 minutes. There was traffic in another direction, despite it not even being rush hour, so I turned round and then didn't want to try to travel through an urban area so chose the motorway. However, the store I missed out was going to be my last store of the day - obviously it was not - but, because of that, is closer to my home anyway so can be more easily visited on another day. I got quite a lot of additional items from my actual last store. You might think I have started going to M after everything has disappeared and therefore not much point going now - however I have got more RTC items. I don't think these have yet been mentioned anywhere before.
I was still dealing with the Princes Mackerel Fillets - there are still some around, Sunflower Oil in my case, several still there in a store with no SEL and with a SEL for 70p relating to a different item in front of them. Checked - they are still 25p. Aunt Bessie's frozen pancakes are also still 50p - again, incorrect SEL in the particular store.
As for the other store, that was the only one for me that had the Green's products (and then only two of them) showing 14p RTC, I do not know whether they scan at 14p in that store - they are the same BC as the ones found elsewhere that all had full price SELs for me. I don't know whether there is something in the system whereby individual stores can 'opt out' of the national price data on certain items. I also don't trust at least one of my stores that had SELs at full price. The same aisle in the same store had the Shaun the Sheep mix with a SEL of £2.47 - I've no idea whether it is or isn't - and had the right weight of the Hello Kitty mix with no SEL. It seemed to me that almost everything in that aisle was incorrectly priced:rotfl:. Anyway, I was not there primarily for items we already know about - although, certainly in this M, I doubt whether they would have drawn my attention to a few more items given that some we know about are showing full price there (whether they are or aren't, in this store, I do not know).
The 48p:eek: Scissor Tongs, the ones that were 48p before, were too dear. They have now gone down to 12p. Again, they've switched around. They are now in neither of the two stores in which I had them before (both of which I visited yesterday) but instead now in another M where I haven't seen them before:rotfl:.
I also found some Bin Buddy Large Bin Wipes 40 pack at 55p.
Bassett's Jelly Babies carton 460g have apparently gone back down to 50p! I must have got there after they'd just put the labels up in one store and had sold them all out within a few hours. Who are these people that manage to buy them in these stores?:question: Obviously no stock whatsoever in this store where I've found the RTC offer label - instead I had the 50p label winking at me with a completely empty shelf. So, that is one I am now aware of that I will need to scan if/when I find the product at another store where no labels have been changed. It may work out like the Belvita Forest Fruit - that I only became aware of at 10p after visiting several stores earlier in the day where they may well have been but were showing no 10p price:mad: - but maybe there is hope as it's not a £1 offer on them as it was with the Belvitas generally at that time, but hopefully £2 SEL and rather not much touched.
I now have the JML Shower Feet on better RTC price, which is not store-specific labelling, than the earlier store specific RTC. Now 62p. Also several other items which claim quite a lot of pounds deduction from previous prices.
I have some TDK and Memorex DVD-R and CD-R and the like, and M own brand DVD-R, on 50p.
I also have a SEL for the M Cross Cut Shredder at £1.50! It will be no surprise whatsoever that there was completely no stock in the store I found it. I am sure that, at that price, the Shredder would be virtually jumping off the shelf and into anybody's shopping who did not even need a Shredder until that point - so good it seems is that price - maybe someone will find it with unchanged £6 SEL (or maybe a higher RTC price - it has been higher RTC than this before). So, that's another one for me to watch out for in another store, except that, having mentioned it here, I now have competition:doh:.
Travels Luggage Tags (2) at 75p. M Animal Print Mini Stapler/Staples 19p. M Best Bitter 4x440ml at £1, although, of course, still more expensive than Savers. M Value 36 Plastic Pegs at 79p. That's how old that item is! To be fair, they don't look very good pegs to me. Washing line;). Triplewax Fast Wax 500ml 40p. Other car liquid stuff, same volume, at £1.25.
M UK Travel Adaptor 50p. This has, I think, been regularly £1 RTC over several months already - although I've noticed it, I've always not mentioned it. I was obviously right to ignore it before - although, now, will it go below 50p?
M 3 Ring Pool at 75p. It's actually a pool that you can put out in your garden, for kids, and fill with water.
The World Book Day legacy items are being cleared in one M at 13p.
Big K Instant Light 2x1Kg is apparently 81p. However, Big K Instant Lightning Charcoal 2x1Kg is supposedly £3.25:eek:. I do not know what the difference is - or whether it is one and the same item and they are trying to confuse us. I have two offer labels that have been put up, both of them dated 5th May (that's not the expiry; it's the date it's allegedly started), although I can only see stock that says Lightning Charcoal on the packs. As far as I know, only Lightning Charcoal is available elsewhere (in other of my Ms today) at £3.25. I have not seen SELs of 81p anywhere. Whether it is there to make us think it isn't 81p and to think it's £3.25 and therefore not bother buying it or whether there is something genuinely at 81p I do not know. Unfortunately I can't scan everything (or even very much) and can only go from what SELs and offer labels say. And that's what the two offer labels say.
M Lemon Zester 78p. M Press and Go Vehicle at 38p. Which is notionally 'better' than the M Mini Vehicles available at 50p each in far more Ms that I've seen. Again, a "better" item and it seems not to be available in as many Ms.
There will be more. I will doubtless mention, or put onto the list, much more later. I have missed lots of items that aren't in the few Ms that I have visited!
(Actually, I've mentioned much of what I've got now, as regards RTCs, so there will probably only be a few more, from this round anyway.)0 -
That was a fiery, emotionally charged QT
There's so much going on just now. Junior Doctors, education and all the elections tonight. Phew! A busy day for politics.
I'm going to bed for the first time tonight in a while NOT feeling anxious. it's a small thing but it's a big thing in my own personal bubble.

My blood tests are whatever they are looking for, so I'm over the first hurdle :T:T Next I'll be invited to Birmingham for some more tests, a medical and some other bumph. Unfortunately I have to have another bone marrow biopsy too _pale_ I was hoping (probably unreasonably) that wouldn't be the case.
Anyway it like being a contestant on the X-factor......I've got past the audition and I'm through to boot camp
I'm now musing how I can turn the trip to Brum into a hospital visit/ shopping expedition/night in a posh hotel for DD and I. It'd be rude not to if I'm having to travel there anyway.Thank you everyone
So pleased you got good news about the bloodsX

Di's signature is so right. it is a journey. not a particularly nice journey at times. either. Not one you can step out of it either. I'd often like to spend a day in someone else's body. that is my struggle
I'm an active person and how much I've been slowed down is devestating. I have the mind to do things but my body doesn't comply. I've struggled to cope with slowing down. I feel like I'm losing myself and who I am. When something unfortunate slows your body down, it should slow your mind down as well0 -
Good morning:)
