A not very good womble - they only just managed to buy 8 appearing items having bought a reduced item that is marked as "REDUCED" on the receipt and doesn't appear. The trouble is these SP items are close in price to T and M and don't give more than a few pence each:
14p against T and 9p against M:(.
5 items on your receipt qualify for comparison Asda tesco
1x Asda Smartprice Instant Custard Mix (70G) £0.15 N/A
1x Cravendale Semi-Skimmed Milk (500ML) £0.50 N/A
1x Garden Peas in Water (300G) £0.21 £0.21
1x ASDA Grower's Selection British Broccoli (335G) £0.38 £0.39
1x ASDA Smartprice Instant Coffee Granules Medium Roast (100G) £0.47 £0.50
1x ASDA Smartprice Spaghetti (500G) £0.20 £0.20
1x ASDA Baker's Selection Angel Cake (EACH) £0.95 £1.00
1x ASDA Smartprice Lasagne (300G) £0.70 N/A
Comparison total (compared products only) £2.21 £2.30
cheaper +£0.09
Not helped by M's price increase on the Broccoli:(. (Or by M changing its pack size on the lasagne although that was several months ago.) The last 335g Broccoli I bought in M was only yesterday and I managed to get a 9p whoopsie. So, if I'd gone to M, as I did, I would not have paid 50p. That 9p one was good - and of course it'll last a few days beyond its date - and was one of two in my M (one of my five Ms of the day:D) that had been marked down a bit more than others had - not sure why but obviously I picked one of the 9p ones.

Elsewhere, however, the recent price increases in M on the fresh veg. are seeing an increase in the price of whoopsies:(. I managed a pack of 1Kg carrots at 29p whoopsie (I think I thought I'd saved more on the broccoli so thought it didn't work out too badly overall; however it should not be that way) - but 29p is more or less the offer price of some weeks ago.
M may be talking about its "price crunch" at the moment; however it seems to be promoting heavily its 750g Chicken Drumsticks, judging from what comes over the instore tannoys. They may have gone down by however many pence they have. However, even with that deduction - measured in pence - the 750g drumsticks still work out worse than the 2Kg or 1.4/1.3Kg? Chicken Drumsticks packs in M that appear to be no longer available. So, IMO, avoid the 750g Chicken Drumsticks that they clearly want people to buy - they are way expensive IMO even at the "crunched" price and simply a direction, or misdirection?, by M towards them. I think sometimes they do this to misdirect people towards items that are actually rather poor value for money, rather than the items that we save lots on and which we really should be buying:rotfl:. I wouldn't put it past them though!
It's all there to help direct people to the items that make the stores money, which can only be done by us spending more money than we 'should'. It can be a diversion, and a distraction, in my view to get people to concentrate on one thing when they should be looking at something else:rotfl:. And I can't help but think that the 3 for £10 mbuy now on the Aussie products - they go to 2 for £5, so that should be their price not the much more expensive 3 for £10! - has been put on because some people might get confused between those and the JFs on the shelving above which sometimes do go onto 3 for £10, or maybe have been seen at 3 for £10 at a competitor and people might see 3 for £10 and think it should apply to the Aussies. All perfectly legal and not misleading as such - but, as usual, you have to be on your guard.0 -

Evening everyone, FC glad you got the news you wanted and Savvy thanks for the new thread:)
Well as you already know I had the most lovely day out with emerald and there was so much chatting going on that I think the car must have driven itself there and back as I certainly don't remember driving it :rotfl:Thank you for the pleasure of your company emerald we really must plan to get together more often:)
It was so lovely to meet rhosynbach and to finally be able to put a face to the name! Afternoon tea was wonderful as were all your amazing homemade cakes (scones, Bara Brith, chocolate cake and salted caramel cake) Emerald was very refined and took some cake home in a doggy bag whereas I was just plain greedy and eat my share there:rotfl: The time just flew by as we chatted away and rhosynbach is such a lovely, down to earth and friendly lady just as I knew she would be:AIt was a pleasure to meet you rhos and thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality, we will definitely have to have another meet up in the future:beer:0 -
