Warranty help please on range cooker

Hi all
I need some advice please.
I purchased a brand new Leisure cooker in May 2014.
In March 2015 the heating element failed. I contacted Leisure and they sent an engineer to replace the faulty part under warranty.
Fast forward to last week (April 2016) and the same problem has happened - the heating element has failed.
I contacted Leisure and they state that they have a 90 day good will gesture cover on their replaced parts.
Am I correct in thinking that all new appliances are covered by a two year warranty under EU rules?
Once again I find that my nearly £1000 cooker is not working, and I am kind of wishing that I purchased a quality brand!

No, you are not right in thinking that all new appliances are covered by a two year warranty under EU rules.

A manufacturer's warranty is in addition to your statutory rights. In fact a manufacturer does not need to offer a warranty at all.

Are we to assume that the manufacturer's warranty has expired?

Did you buy direct from Leisure?
If not, seek a remedy from whoever sold the thing to you.

However, as the faulty part was not supplied by the seller, they can deny any responsibility too.

Time for you to read MSE's Consumer Rights guide methinks.
