For some reason entitled to won't load for me this evening. I have a friend who is due a baby soon and wants to know if she can claim anything over and above child benefit.
Earnings last year £12500, work were being funny with her working pattern but went off on maternity last week, she's taking 4 weeks holiday and mat leave properly starts in 3 week time. She's getting SMP only and is hoping to have a new job to go back to as current one is in financial trouble and she's not confident she will have a job to to back to.
OH last year earnings £21,000. Recently lost job and found another 40 hours a week at NLW. This job started before 5th April.
Baby is due in June, 1st child for both of them.
No rent, mortgage or council tax. They are from a culture where newly weds live with the husbands family.

Their household income for this year will need to be less than £23,500 to claim tax credits.
Have them calculate their expected income for this tax year (she can deduct the first £100 per week of SMP for up to 39 weeks).0
