    Perhaps the OP should send a letter to Opos (DCA), asking them to justify the claim they are making by asking for a copy of the original credit agreement, which should include the original APR etc, statements of any payments to date (and any additional charges), the Deed Of Assignment, and the Deed Of Novation.

    FORCE them to justify their demands. It's time DCA's were held to account by us, for their often threatening actions.

    I have beaten a couple of DCA's by asking for the above, it works as they can almost never provide what you ask for, and what they realise they legally need, despite their bullying claims such as "We are under no obligation to provide the documents you asked for". Blah, blah, blah. Ask them for the Deed of Assignment and Deed Of Novation via phone call, the agents squirm and try to dispute this at every turn. Record every call. Only call them if you are certain you will not be railroaded by their agents into admitting something you will regret. Safest action is to ALWAYS deal with them by post.
