Opos claims £700 on £150 loan

I won't be posting on these fora again. I was always under the impression that people were around to help with constructive comments and suggestions - been proven wrong so many times on here - with too many people looking to castigate me with 'holier than thou' attitudes.
Why would someone who seems to never have been in financial difficulties for reasons beyond their control be even posting on forums like this if all they are ever going to do is criticise someone in debt?
Do such people expect that a forum entitled 'Loans' is going to be populated with threads where all contributors are saying is things like 'Today I paid off every penny of my loan on time as per agreement with creditor'. Be a pretty pointless forum if that were the case...

So your letting some replies you don't like stop you from posting on here ?0 -

Suppose I am really, yes. I think I would be better just going to CAB or similar where I will at least get some constructive viewpoint on the issues.
At the end of the day I don't think anyone on here can help further - those that might want to help as the situation appears to be:
1. I took a loan a number of years back for £150
2. The loan was for a very high interest rate
3. I did not keep up payments
4. Now the interest and charges etc on 1. above (less £425 I did pay back) amounts to £700 still owing
Nothing more to be said really. I will agree a plan with Opos and make the payments to eventually pay off what they say is due.

please find the email with the original APR and the total repayable ASAP and lengh of time
PS: opos are a debt collection company based in Glasgow , it is very probable that your loan was with a now defunct company
when the "cowboys" were being investigated (payday loans) lots were sold for a token £1
the owners of the debt company are in some cases the owners of the now defunct payday loan co
you need to do some searching thru those old emails ,

Not quite accurate. That related to a claim which was pursued against me and where the creditor could not prove I owed the sum claimed - but they dragged things out, via solicitors in circumstances where the claim was, in any event, statute barred.

Even if it's statue barred you still owe them the money!. Being statue barred means that they can't legally reclaim it.0 -
umm, the link I followed but MSE blanked out showed that the sale from minicredit was illegal , and it was a common thing for opos to add many hundreds on , then offer a reduction.
if the OP check I think they will find the original company is no more , and those letters / phone calls are just a bluff as Opos have not got the right to chase the debt.
if the debt was 2014 , it will not be statute barred , but the collection will be unenforceable
people have begged opos to take them to court , but they will notSave a Rachael

Why do Opos not have the right to chase the debt?
