So you provide post code/ usage and get a quote. Get all the way through and then they say sorry we can't switch you because of IGT.
Waste of time - surely they should be able to not quote when I enter my postcode first time around?
Anyway, this was on the new smaller suppliers. Is it just the smaller ones who won't go near IGT houses or not?
Be good if there was a list so I'd know to ignore these quotes?

All the Big 6 suppliers support customers supplied via an IGT, all with no surcharge
It's more difficult with the smaller suppliers because (a) some do and some don't, (b) new small suppliers keep popping up (c) those that don't now may later support and (d) a few may support but add a surcharge that may change.
All this means that someone would need to keep a list updated.
Unfortunately, the postcode simply provides the comparsison site with the supply region, and it's not necessarily so that everyone with a certain postcode is supplied by an IGT anyway.
Some comparison sites indicate if a particular supplier will/won't support IGT customers (and may indicate the surcharge too)
e.g. try the MSE Cheap Energy Club
Or check out the website of the supplier of your choice - it usually has something on it about IGT's especially if it's a small supplier0
