Co-op Bank Review of PPI Letter

My husband successfully claimed back mis-sold PPI some time in 2012/2013 on an old northern rock together mortgage credit card that had been transferred to the Co-operative Bank. The card is closed and we moved about 2.5 years ago and have this week he has received a letter saying that they have been ‘trying to contact him’ following a ‘review of PPI policy sales’.
He called the number as advised and they now want him to go into a branch to provide ID. Sounds simple enough but he has MND and is wheelchair bound.
Anyone had this before? Is it likely to be good news if they are going to so much effort to trace him? Would be really annoying if they just want him to complete a questionaire!
Thanks in advance
