Free photography software

Does anyone know of any free photography software for manipulating RAW images. I really want something I can download to start right away. Bit worried about adware.

You can try using GIMP its similar to a lite photoshop

Your camera should have come with some decent software to get you up and running.

Raw Therapee is one I've used for years and although a bit of a steep learning curve, it is very effective.

For a quick and dirty RAW imager, Fast Stone Image Viewer is surprisingly versatile and free.

For GIMP you might need ufRAW plugin http://ufraw.sourceforge.net/ which is also standalone RAW manipulation
