I want to come off HRT after 51/2 years.First time I tried Dr suggested one every other day and slower taper off.Started to get bad headaches which I associated with the HRT withdrawal.Went back on them and DR started me on medication for headaches, something I have suffered with for along time,so ?? Coming off HRT made them worse.Headaches improved dramatically.
So went back and saw different DR re trying to come off them again, her suggestion just stop them no evidence this causes problems,i was bit sceptical but just stopped.Week later horrendous migraine lasting three days!! Back on HRT...Has anyone come off successfully and how did you do it please??

I weaned myself off hrt over about a year . Started by taking 1/2 a tablet for 6 months and then 1/4 for a few months before I stopped .
I initially tried the alternate days method but found this didn't suit me very well .
I think the slow gradual weaning off it prepared my body and I've never needed to go back to it.0 -
I just stopped and had no problems. I guess its luck.Sell £1500

I've been on it for about 8 years, lowest dose available & been on a 'weaning off' regime practically from day one!
Cut up the piils for years to just take the optimum dose to control hot flushes enough to sleep & function better.
Been taking 1/3 tab a day for past few years, GP thinks I'm daft, dose is so low it's virtually negligible but I know my own body, this mimiscule dose does me & I'm staying on it. Age 61.Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.0
