n4*pya PPC NtK with Incorrect VRM

I've managed to pick up a FCN from an IPC firm because I forgot to pay for parking at my local station the other day. When I went online to pay it today I noticed that they've put the wrong VRM on the notice (two letters juxtaposed) - what are the likely outcomes if I don't bother paying now?

You just need to wait and see what transpires. They will access the DVLA database for the details of the registered keeper for the vehicle which corresponds with the incorrect (transposed) VRM. Someone is going to get a surprise! If a windscreen ticket they can't access the DVLA until after day 28 following the parking event date.
This PPC reads this forum, so I'd remove all references to them in your opening post and your thread header (use advance edit for this). Show it as something like 'n4*pya' in the opening post and just 'PPC NtK with Incorrect VRM' in the header - regulars will know who you mean. If the PPC spots this 'tip off' they'll be checking their recent records and rectifying before contacting the DVLA.
Come back if or when you hear any more, but meantime use the time productively to read and understand the newbies sticky, post #1 only at this stage. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. Cheers fella, much appreciated.0

So... Unsurprisingly perhaps, I've now received a Notice to Keeper which bears the correct registration number. Presumably they also had photographic evidence. Any thoughts or should I just suck it up and pay? I'd quite like to point out to them that I attempted to pay online using my actual car details, which returned an error, for obvious reasons.0

you will certainly lose any appeal made, although you could use the IPC template to n4*pya** to start with but a waste of time going to the IAS
they may well take you to court if you fail to pay, so you must weigh up the options carefully , especially any discount offered0 -
They fail the PoFA test for keeper liability as the NtK must fully match the windscreen ticket. But as they're now IPC members they'll be working on the (illogical) presumption that the keeper was the driver and (incorrectly) quote Elliott -v- Loake. The IAS will back them up so little point in appealing to them.
It would need a court to unravel this, and 'no keeper liabilty' because of a failing to adhere to PoFA would be one line of defence. You could just take a chance and see where things lead if you're up for the fight, even if not, you could just give it some time to see if they issue court papers - which you can defend. Alternatively you can settle any time up to the day of the court hearing. Give it some thought, no need to knee-jerk at this stage. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. As Umkomaas says, they have failed to issue a matching NTD followed by a NTK which 'repeats the details' on the NTD. The registered keeper cannot be held liable.
But as Redx says, because of the PPC involved who are litigious:they may well take you to court if you fail to pay, so you must weigh up the options carefully , especially any discount offered
Up to you, sit tight if you wish. While you think about this I would EDIT YOUR FIRST POST NOW! You say too much for a registered keeper!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

amazing how many people "say too much" on a very public internet forum with the possibility of up to 7 billion people reading the posts, but even more so when you think that anyone with an ounce of sense that works for a PPC would sign up here with a free account and read the threads
its like they think they are conversing with one friend in a dark alley in the middle of nowhere , lol
yet people have been put in jail for what they have written on the net that was used in evidence in court0
