tight fit for appliances in new kitchen

The installer of my new kitchen has left exactly 60cm for the (all freestanding) dishwasher and 120cm for the washing machine and tumble dryert to be slotted into. Given that these devices are all 59.5cm wide, how much extra for each should I make him extend the spaces by, please? It will not be a /very/ difficult job for him, I hope, but I don't want the appliances to be banging and shaking the new units?

We always leave 620mm for each appliance. This allows ample space.

Dishwashers & tumble dryers don't move. The washing machine might move a bit depending on which one it is & what floor it is on, but they are designed to go in a 60cm hole.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

Tighter the better for the washing machine, don't want it moving around especially if it's on a suspended wooden floor instead of concrete.
  • Since posting I came across your a reference to leaving space around tumble dryers - 10mm above and 15mm each side. This squares with the 620mm mentioned earlier. Is it that necessary? Or will banging fill the house?

of those three appliances, it's only the WM that will move as others have started.

space around TD is to allow heat to escape presumably and reduce fire risk rather than any 'banging' (our freestanding TD certainly does not 'bang' )
