Business Rates Refund

Hi - does anyone know if there is any links on here about claiming your own business rates refund - I have had a look but cannot find anything. We have been contacted a couple of times from companies offering their services - has anyone claimed themselves? I thought we were out of time to do so, but I maybe not. I cannot see that we would be entitled to anything and worry contacting council may lead to money going up - but they mention high amounts that could be refunded - probably just to get us interested I guess? Any advice appreciated. Thanks

Companies contacting you are after your money over and above saving you money.

Avoid them all. If you want to launch an appeal find a proper rating valuer to act for you, but the rateable value could go up.

The Council can't increase rates, they only collect the money on behalf of HM Govt.
