EE Putting Broadband Prices Up

I have very little positive to say about EE. I find their customer service appalling, their service horrific and their general attitude, in my opinion is a disgrace.
I use them for my mobile as it is the only signal we can get in our rural area. Sadly, we get no reception in our house, so we also have EE broadband which allows us to pick up a mobile signal through our broadband.
I received an email the other day from EE stating that they will be putting the price of my broadband up by £3 per month.

I have been a customer for around 7 or 8 years. Are they able to just do this?

Yes its as all the others in the T&C .
The price increase should allow you to leave penalty free within 30 days of notification .Its not just EE on the price increase bandwagon .0 -
I seriously cannot understand why there is not 1 big company out there which says you know what we won't increase prices during the minimum term as they would get a lot of customers going to them who are sick of these constant price increases.0

they almost all buy the product wholesale from BT , if Bt up their prices then they all follow suit. Some may decide to absorb an element of the increase to gain market advantageEx forum ambassador

It really is a scandal. I feel tied to EE as we use it also for our mobiles and they have us on Apple WIFI or something whereby our mobile signal comes from our EE home broadband router. We are effectively paying for our mobile calls through our already paid for broadband because their mobile coverage is too weak.
I was surprised that they could put through such a price hike seeing as I have been with them for quite some time. I am by no means a new customer and have been on the same contract since inception.0 -
Your being with them means nothing and even less since the days of money savers .0

They buy backhaul from BT. That is a small part of what is involved in and of the total cost of providing an internet connection. Other backhaul providers are available, notably TT (and their wholesale backhaul service is a good deal better than their consumer ISP service).they almost all buy the product wholesale from BT , if Bt up their prices then they all follow suit. Well, my EE service is not very good and all I seem to have the phone line for is to receive junk calls.
So it they put mine up by £3 then I think I'll bail out.0
