Egg Money Card

I have an Amex card which is not accepted by many shops and agencies. They always ask if it is a Visa or a Master card. I had to spend about £2000 last month but because my Amex card was not accepted I lost considerably on the cashback facility. After going through the forum I plan to apply for the Egg Money.
Would you please let me know if the shops accept it like Visa and Master or is it a Visa or Master itself.

The Egg Money card is a Mastercard. It is accepted by every store that accepts Mastercard.0
