Parking eye 4 mins over fine

Hi,
I recieved a parking ticket from parking eye, as I went 4mins over my 2 hours.
But I wouldn't have if there wasn't a one way road for everyone trying to get in and out the same entrance and exit. Also had to wait for a lady driving to reserve very slowly back on to a main road, when no body would let her out..

So do I just appeal and tell them this, and ask them to check there cameras, so they can see the problems that day??

They don't use conventional CCTV (and therefore won't see the issue), only ANPR cameras, so "what happened on the day" will get a rejected appeal. PE just want your money!!

What you need to do is read the NEWBIES thread. Read it through 2-3 times as it may need that for the info to go in.

Some guidance - you need to use the (carefully written) appeal text in blue - don't change it.

You could add that the driver was delayed leaving the car park due to traffic issues, and in any case, the BPA code of practice says that a 10 minute grace period should be allowed at the end of the parking period, and the driver was well within that.

Use "The driver" in the third person and never "me "myself " "I" in any correspondence, as it is important that you do not reveal who was driving.

When they reject the appeal, they should give you a POPLA code where you can make an independent appeal. This will need to be done carefully appealing on points of law, but we can cross that bridge when we get to it.

where was this diabolical deed done ?

so while you follow the good advice above ...

complain LOUD to all the retailers you visited that day and demand that they get your invoice cancelled ....

or you and your will never spend £££ there again...

    good luck

    Re: Grace period

You can quote the latest version of their code (V6) which says

13.4 You should allow the driver a reasonable period to leave the private car park after the parking contract has ended, before you take enforcement action. If the location is one where parking is normally permitted, the Grace Period at the end of the parking period should be a minimum of 10 minutes.

As PE are fully aware of the grace period you should lodge a strong complaint in writing to your local Trading Standards Officer. This is a blatent attempt to obtain monies by misrepresentation.

You should also complain to the BPOA and DVLA. In fact, the more you complain, the more it will cost them.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
