Paying debts with pension fund?

I am looking at retiring at 55 next year when I will have worked 37 years for the NHS unfortunately as I was part time until recently I will only receive a small lump sum. Question is; do I negotiate paying my debts off(as my husband and I have been on a debt plan for a few years that doesn't end until 2027!), or should I put it towards the outstanding mortgage? I don't think the debt plan provider would be happy with me settling some of the smaller debts, I think it has to be given to them in a lump sum to distribute to all the places we owed to? I will be looking to stay working 3 days a week once I retire next May. My husband does not retire for another 8 years from the fire service. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
