Economy 7 megaflo water tank

I'm trying to eek out the water heated overnight by Economy 7. At the moment, there's enough for a shower in the morning and about half a bath in the evening. There's no-one in all day, and so the water doesn't get used for much else. I have a megaflo water cylinder that is just warm to the touch, when the water is fully heated. Will putting a jacket on the tank make any difference to keeping the water warm, or is it already insulated enough? Any other tips for trying to make the water last? Thanks

I'd have a look at your timeswitch, and compare the setting to your electricity meter. My meter is supposed to switch at 0030/0730, but actually it happens at 0051/0751.
Make sure your immersion timeswitch stays on until the E7 kicks off, then hopefully it will recoup some of the energy you used by taking the shower.0 -
The practical answer is to have a quicker, earlier shower in the morning. This will use less hot water and give the Megaflow more time to heat back up.
You do not say if you have gas to boost the water temperature in the evening.
A more expensive answer is to have a bigger Megaflow fitted.0
