My Tumble Dryer Keeps Cutting Out

Well the title says what the problem is. But a bit more detail won't go amiss.
When the dryer is running the drum will, more often than not, stop turning. To fix this we open the door and spin it a little then start it back up and it normally works again. This stoppage is normally accompanied by a whine, like the motor is struggling to turn.
This morning the Mrs said that all power to some plugs downstairs had gone of. And the dryer was smoking. So I unplugged the dryer, reset the fuse box and left the dryer for a while.
About an hour later I started to tinker. I took it apart and noticed the following, the belt that drives the drum is slightly worn. The air space next to the heater element was pa key full of lint and burnt. And a cloth like seal around the door/drum was lose.
So it hoovered out all the dust and dry lint from all parts that I could get too. I took the drive belt and cloth like seal to a few shops to try and get new ones. No luck with it being a bank holiday.
So I came home and put it back together and it works.
But it still cuts out. Why is this? Is it getting too hot in there even though the ventilation is almost like new? Or is the motor on its way out?
The drive belt is slightly worn but not enough in my opinion to cause the problem.
My machine is a Servis M200black.
