Actually, just looked at the purchase date and it was 31 days ago. The 30th day was the day we went into the dealer to ask for our money back before we were told they had three chances to fix it.0

The 30 days for the right of rejection without having to allow any attempt at a repair starts on the day after you have taken possession of the goods so you don't count the day that you drove the car away.
However, that's no longer relevant as they have had one attempt at a repair and as this has failed, you can still reject the car.

Still can’t quite believe this is happening. We demanded a refund and the car is still at the Nissan garage with an undiagnosed fault. Toyota finally said they would refund our money when the ‘courtesy’ car, which they gave us after they realised it was going to take a while to repair the Nissan, is returned. They said they would collect the courtesy car but the afternoon they were due to collect it they emailed to say they were too busy and they could only collect it in the morning (we can’t take it back because they only insured my wife to drive it and the insurance ran out the day they said they were going to collect it). We are not home in the morning and we can’t afford to take the time off work to sort this out.
To make it worse we have now lost money on insurance, tax, have yet to have confirmation our monthly MOT payment have been cancelled and have generally been treated poorly. And we still don’t have a car and are £6400 down!
This can’t be right, can it?0 -
take legal advice to recover other losses. Or can the garage supply you with an alternative car?0

One bit of advice for the future.
Buying a 5yr old car with 13000 miles on it is likely part of the problem.
Car has probably never been fully warmed up since it was brand new.
And £6400 for a 2011 Micra. Wow.
Have a look at the prices for much newer cars at Car Supermarkets.

Have a look at Motorpoint and Fords of Winsford for similar, you have he same rights buying from a Car Supermarket as a Main Dealer, if you buy a newer car it is likely to have a little bit of manufacturers warranty left.
But check service history as it is not unusual for people that have cars on short term lease or contract hire deals to skimp on servicing as they are not intending to keep it long term, but to be honest you should be doing that on any car unless the price and value makes buying on condition more relevant.
I saw some real overpriced rubbish at the local Toyota dealer when we considered an Aygo, last of old shape, and they were £2k more than Car Supermarkets and when I looked over them they all had scuffs and scratches and damaged wheel trims.0 -

This is endless. The dealer is now saying they can not give us a refund as they do not have the V5 log book. We do not have the V5 log book either. Any advice?
We had a temporary V5 certificate which we returned to the dealer but not the full V5 log book. Who is responsible for this and how long might it take to get one? 7 weeks, 6400 quid gone and all for a car which had a fault on the day we drove it off and had one afternoon of...0 -
the log book is not your problem
insist you are given the full money back and tell them to issue a request at their cost from swansea for a new one
sounds a poor dealer setup if they cant afford to repay you for what was obviously a car not fit for purpose0
