PPI Mortgage Help

Options
Hi there

I am looking for some help. I purchased my first mortgage back in 2000 with PPI attached which has a reference number. Since taking out that mortgage I have since sold that house took ou0t a new mortgage to buy a new house, this also appears to have PPI applied and has a seperate reference number.

My question is, do I have to submit 2 separate claims for each of the PPI's attached and therefore complete 2 separate PPI Consumer questionnaires both mortgages were through HSBC.

Also can I use template letters rather than the PPI Consumer questionnaire?

I know that these probably seem like a really obvious questions but wanted to double check in the first instance.

It won't be PPI on a mortgage. It might be MPPI which you will find hard to claim for.

You'll need to send separate complaints for each.

Do be sure it is PPI you are complaining about and not Life assurance or Critical Illness cover.

What are your reasons for complaint?

Why do you think that you should be entitled to your money back?

The posts above are asking for the info because whilst most PPI complaints are upheld, that is not the case for MPPI, where most complaints are rejected. Today, MPPI is one of two types of PPI still retailed. It suffers less issues than PPI with loan and credit card. For example, most MPPI covers the self employed and pays out in addition to 12 months sick pay from employer (the FOS reject complaints that rely on 12 months sick pay - a reason that works well with loan and credit card PPI).

Use whatever you feel most comfortable with. You need to complain about the policy (or policies if there are more than one) that you feel were missold to you outlining your reasons for complaint.
