High Quality Photo Printing

Firstly, apologies if this isn't the correct forum - please point me in the right direction if there is a more appropriate one.
Can anyone recommend a printing service that combines good quality with a not too horrendous price please?
I am making an archive scrapbook to be presented to my dd for her birthday and want to print some good quality photos. I know Martin has a link to printers with the cheapest deals on but I am after quality rather than just the cheapest price.
Having said that, I do have an Epson Photo Quality Printer which has done a great job on some test prints but I suspect that it will cost a fortune to print the amount I need (about 50 4"x6" photos, some colour and some B&W).
Any advice gratefully received.

I use PHOTOBOX but there are others
They're having a sale on at the moment, but they all are!

I've always been very pleased with the output from Bonusprint and I think their prices are competitive.

I've been using Photobox for years and they have never let me down.
Printing at home just doesn't seem to be worth the cost or the hassle. A business with printers which costs thousands is always going to produce better quality prints than a 50 quid model from PC World.0 -
I normally use photobox though I have noticed their printing isn't as good as it used to be. I suspect they've switched how they print as the images I've received for the last few orders have all been the same. Not bad as such, but not 'photographic' in quality. Their customer service has always been very good though.
I've tried most places in the High Street and Boots came out about the best for me, the service where they send the files away rather than printing instore. Same for photographic prints from negatives, they were much, much better for those than our local Snappy Snaps and Max Spielman.
Agree with the above poster, more so if this is something you want to keep, printing yourself on an inkjet printer will give a fair result today but the ink isn't made to last, if left out of direct light it will be fine for a few years but if on display the colours and prints will fade in a year or so.0 -

I haven't had any prints from film for years (maybe a decade) but I always found Boots to be the best.
I may well try their digital prints in the near future just to see how good (or not) they are.0 -
lots of the online places have introductory offers of 50 - 100 free prints you just pay the postage kinda thing"If I know I'm going crazy, I must not be insane"0

Just to update this, I just recently tried Jessops following an online code.
There were a couple of prints I liked, and aware how printing can differ, edited a lighter and a darker version of those prints. On receiving them back, all three look identical. Jessops have also randomly cropped several of the images to fit, unlike with photobox where you get a warning and a chance to adjust the crop position.
For a camera retailer I would've maybe expected more, these prints are really disappointing and not really worth keeping.0
