Vanity Unit -- am I going mad?

Following on from all your help with "cutting out a single tile" thread, I am now ready to fit the vanity unit. Ordered online, the first sink arrived broken, but that's another story.
I cut out the base for the pipe work and pushed it flush with the wall, making sure it was level. I attached the tap and waste to the sink and put that on top. It is one of those half-counter types, like this:
sink but not from B&Q.
Then I find that the sink is 15mm deeper than the base. The only way to fit it is to have a gap at the back of the cupboard or a gap at the front between the cupboard and the bottom of the sink.
I am waiting to hear back from them but I am saying that the sink and cupboard aren't matched. Do experts agree?

Trying to look at the vanity unit but the link you supplied does not work. I suspect it is the B&Q website as I searched for it on there and, whilst it finds several called ardenno, it will not display them.0

Mine overlaps 15mm at the front, I didn't notice for months. Don't worry about it.
Link's fine here by the way.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0 -
This is the actual unit:
sink
It's pretty cheap, I know.
Essex, you may be happy with yours, but is this how it is meant to be? I think it should fit exactly.Je suis sabot...0 -
Here is a picture showing the difference:

Plumbers, is this how it should be? I want to know how much to argue about it. The company have been responsive so far.Je suis sabot...0 -

Mine overhangs at the front. Unit is flush with the wall at the back. The plumber moaned about it then he moaned about the tap hole not being the right size then he moaned about - everything really. I just told him to get on with it & it's fine.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0 -
It's cheap and been designed to be sold in high volumes to people who don't pay much attention to detail. It looks ok free standing in the shop but the problems come when you come to fit it against the wall.
Personally I'd want the overhang at the back and the front flush, but there's an amount of work required to do it. It's up to you where you ant to compromise. Have the front overhanging and it will always look crap.0 -
I think my compromise will be to get another unit. I can't live with it like this.Je suis sabot...0
