My aunt has a row of coat hooks with fleeces & pashminas. My little cousins accept that time in the playroom is best enjoyed with star jumps every hour. You can see when they want to curl up with a good book - they bring a fleece blanket up as well as the book. Likewise when they're unexpectedly riveted - they huddle and read on. (Kindly relatives drape fleeces over huddled readers.)
Doesn't fix the problem but it's a workaround.0
