  • POLLY love, no baggage here just friendship, understanding and a shoulder for all of us when we need it. We've all been through the mill for one reason or another and we're not judgemental just supportive. Most of us are mums and grandmas and know that feeling of such great defence when it comes to our children and grandchildren, it's a natural thing when they are adversely treated to come to their defence and feel anger so you're just doing what nature intended of mothers. Your little one has her own inner light which no words or acts can touch and she has you to see that light where others might not so love her just that tiny bit more and it will help both of you, Love and hugses Lyn xxx.

Just catching up on the thread,

Oh Polly, how hurtful people can be especially family members who in my experience feel they have more right to say such things, irrespective of the distress they are causing. What is the saying about not knowing someone's pain until you walk in their shoes for a mile? Big old virtual hug for you xx
Well said Lyn, as always my friend you are so astute in your comments :) x

Thank you Lainey TA and Islandmaid and all who have taken the time to be so kind and supportive .
I was unable to discuss this in the real world as it would have led to mayhem . I appreciate being able to get out what was tearing me apart I have read through some of the cbt stuff I have from some counselling when things were very tough and am going to deal with this logically and not respond . I shall bear in mind the serenity prayer and treat it as something I cannot change and have the wisdom to accept that .
NMLC and JUDI I hope you realise that all the hugs , kindness and empathy on here today are also for you and anyone else in need with extra ones from me . I hope today hasn't been to hard and you get some restful sleep tonight . xx
I am out tomorrow so if I don't post early I will be on later . Wishing everyone a good evening and as Mar doesn't appear here much I will hope for a nice sunny Tuesday for all . I've probably summoned her up now - don't look Mar it will only end with the white stuff !!!
    Night all x

I always had a problem with bread, I love it but it doesn't love me, when I started my diet I changed from having a sandwich each lunchtime to having a salad, within 3 days my tummy problems had settled down. I rarely eat bread now, and can on occasions without too much problem as long as it's not ready made white sliced, I don't know what's in it but like you it makes me feel bloated and tummy doesn't like it. If I do eat bread it's the brown/seeded loaves, I generally just have 1 slice. I believe there's something in the white sliced bread possibly the preservatives that my body doesn't like
Same here, as ive got older my stomach has started to complain when i eat bread. I get bloated and have stomach cramps. Two slices is my limit on an afternoon and i am regretting it for the rest of the day but i havent yet found a wheat free substitute that is filling enough to carry me over till my evening meal.

Nmlc i feel for you with all the unpleasantness your going through in your family. For this reason and also the recent unpleasantness i have had with my own Mothers funeral i have told my hubby and my family that i dont want a funeral. I found this link on the site somewhere and ive given it to hubby and 3 of my kids, requesting what i want when i expire. Pure cremation As for my house. I'd like to take it with me please.... to save them all fighting or feeling pushed out as if i die before him, they will definitely have reason to fight as my two eldest children wont be legally entitled to any of it as they are not biologically my husbands children and doesnt 'approve' of their life choices. Yes, i definately want to take the house with me.:rotfl: Maybe if hubby has to pay rent after ive gone he'll appreciate all the rent and mortgage free months that he's taken for granted.

Speky... ive just realized your a bloke! Good to have a bit more testosterone on board...I hope your interview goes well tomorrow.
Oh good gracious Judi how much more can you take.

    Sending hugs (if that helps)!!
It does indeed.... now pass the chocolate. :D We will see what tomorrow brings.
I finally had to put the phone down on a family member a few days ago as I was being subjected to a tide of verbal abuse out of the blue.

Polly how dare they! If the abuse that came out is a reflection of their heart.... they must have a heart of stone! Ive often said of my Mother "Just because i am her daughter, it didnt give her the right to verbally abuse me, tell lies about me, half truths and fabricate all the rest". It doesnt give your family member the right either. A big hug to you.

My day was tiring. Mentally i'm done in.... An early night for me i think.

    Sleep well all.

Pollyanna, my son has an unseen illness and I get rather fed up with people just assuming that he is idle. I'm sorry to know that you are going through this too.

Judi, is it definitely wheat you are intolerant to? I've decided that my intolerance is to yeast so am trying soda bread instead and it does seem to be working.

It might be yeast as wheatabix doesn't bloat me. Wheatabix for dinner it is then :)

So sorry that so many of you are having unpleasant dealings with family, my extended family have all dropped off the radar in that there is no contact unless I contact them or somebody dies......at least I avoid all the unpleasantness.

We had a nice lunch today with DD4 and her family, wasnt aware Hester that we shouldnt call her little girls 'the twins', any idea why? We ate in a garden centre and the girls had a wonderful time looking around at everything and grinning madly at everyone who realised that they are identical and remarked on it.

Looking forward to the warmer weather promised for later in the week, I have really fe lt the cold lately......not wearing socks, stockings or tights probably doesnt help.

Sleep well everybody, thank you all for being my friends

    Marie.

p.s. nearly forgot, good luck tomorrow Speky.
