Which laptop?

I need to get a replacement laptop and have found two that aren't too expensive but I think will be fit for what I need. I'll be using the laptop for things like internet shopping/banking, household accounts and probably holding photos, I guess the normal things people use them for. Can anyone suggest which would be the better laptop to go for as I don't know what I should be looking for.
