Finally Doing It

Well , way back in June I started asking you guys a few questions , you were all very helpful. I must admit I got really scared about going for the BR. I have "dragged my heels" a bit , but , my OH and myself have submitted our online forms , we are in court tomorrow . I am still trying to balance that thing in my head of "losing control of everything". I suppose in reality that I am in control because I have had to fill in the forms , I have chosen when to go for it .........................and if I feel that goddamn awful I can always post here because there is a whole bunch of people that understand what its like.

Basically this is just a big thankyou to these forums and I shall return to post - - - > What Happend Next <- - - - -

    Good luck for tomorrow. :)

It's far scarier thinking about it than doing it.:D;)

And yes, it's a big positive step you are taking.

    Hi sweetie,

Yes you're right - you have taken complete control now of your future!

It takes lot of courage to do what you are doing, and I know how scary it is the day before, but it a lot easier than you think - as fermi has said.
Tomorrow is the start of a new life and the only way is up! :j

Good luck and when you can, let us know how you are doing.

    Take care

Good luck for tomorrow, it's really not as scary at the court as you think, everything will be fine! :)
  • Good luck for tomorrow - you will soon feel so much better - I promise!

  • Hi-echo the above...hardest bit is filling in the forms! Once you've done it (Court is easy-so is OR interview if you are honest & up-front) you will feel SO SO releived! Odd......I did it 2 months ago & the '3 week before' bit, filling forms in, asking for help etc...seems ages ago. In fact there is a big 'hole' where alll that used to be! Really it's as simple as this-go to Court-leave-YOU ARE THEN DEBT FREE-END OF STORY. If anyone contacts you re: money-pass it on to the OR-that's their job!

To make myself happy (& this is down to personal choice) I photocopied my BR notice & faxed/sent it to all creditors the day after I went BR. The OR office is OS busy that sometimes it might take a month or so for them to contact all creditors...so to avoid calls (& also to phone up & say' I'm calling regarding my debt' & then letting them spout crap about full & final offers, taking you to court, etc...THEN you tell 'em you are BR-the silence is great-LOVE IT!!) & for your own peace of mind you can do this.

After OR meeting....a big fat NOTHING. Life is NORMAL again. & in most cases people are discharged after SIX months.

The easy word is contentious here but once you've had the correct advice & decided to do it it IS EASY!

    Good luck 2morrow-let us know!
  • Goodluck seven2seven, I sure, like everyone else, you will feel a great sense of relief when all is over with, Im really looking forward to that feeling too, as we wont be far behind you in going BR!!!
Let us know how it goes :)
  • Well if I dont get much sleep I may just post here out of boredom :).............but once I return tomorrow I will put my feelings down in words. Thanks for the tip about maybe ringing up some creditors , I may just do it.
