Hotmail accounts

I have two Hotmail.com email accounts(I call them primary and secondary) that I have had for many years. The secondary I use rarely.
I have tried several times to access this secondary account and it states there is unusual activity. It sends a code to my primary account and instructs me get this code(six numbers) and enter it in a box that appears when I attempt to log in to my secondary account.
When I enter the code a dotted circle appears and continually rotates - nothing else happens. I have tried this several times over some weeks - always with the same results.
Can anyone tell me what I need to do? The emails sent to my primary account are 'no reply'
Any ideas how I can access that secondary account please. Or how I contact Hotmail for their assistance
Thanks

Have you tried it with another browser??0

Could this account have been closed due to inactivity, (how long since last login)?
I use it every few weeks.
Surely if it was closed it would inform me of that fact. However it goes through the verification process; i.e all users of Hotmail accounts must have a second email account(not necessarily a Hotmail account) so you can be contacted if there is a problem.0 -

That sounds a bit drastic.
Personally, I would use a different browser; if not, clear all internet history and cookies and try again, its probably some cross scripting (or something like that) between the 2 Hotmail accounts.0 -
Problem now solved.
I attempted to log in to secondary account on Ipad - same message stating a code was sent to primary account. Armed with this code I logged in again to secondary account and everything worked OK without the need to enter the code.
Thanks to all!0 -
The rotating circle can happen when you have an aggressive popup blocker installed on (say) Firefox, and the website tries to create a popup window. I have to use Internet Explorer to log on to a well-known Tonbridge-based financial institution starting with "F".0

There's no need to be so frightened. MBAM can pick up the trojans but not what they've changed say in the host file. I've had problems with certain sites in the past and a very quick host file reset does the trick without doing any harm.“Learn from the mistakes of others.
