Does anyone know how to connect 2 monitors to a PC?

Can anyone clue me in to how to connect two monitors to a pc? I've had to get a second one for a graphics program (one for the image one for the tools, etc).
I can't figure out how to do it? The PC doesn't seem to 'see' the second one. Using XP.

The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.

With the monitors connected:
1) Right-click on the desktop background.
2) Click "Properties"
3) Click the "Settings" tab
4) Select the second monitor under the Display tab
5) Click the box that says "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor"
Voila!
If this doesn't work, you might need to update the drivers on your graphics card.0 -
