    You should always go on the electoral Roll as not doing so will effect your ability to gain credit, Council tax and water will not show on your credit report. Although so electric/gas suppliers may do.

    It is probably best to pay your friend £500 a month and let them stay responsible for the bills. You would not be financially associated simply by living with someone you would need to have joint finance with them.

    The score itself is irrelevant it’s about how you manage your accounts and probably how much debt you have and your debt to income ratio and deposit amount that will count for more if you are wanting to get a mortgage.

    You should also be careful as you sound like you will be at risk of lenders not having enough information about how you would manage credit. Having a credit card that you pay for all your shopping on in a month and pay off in full is also a good way to prove your credit worthiness and you would pay no interest managing a credit card like this.
