Seagull poo - on car

My shiny new car was recently the target of a seagull - it poo'd right down the centre of the car - MINUTES after I had washed it - I unfortunately failed to clean ALL the poo off the roof, straight away - and now, it looks like the droppings have etched in to the paint - is there a recommended method of restoring the shine to this damage ?

Make sure it's cleaned properly and use a bit of Autoglym SRP to polish it.

The whole car is shiny and waxed - but the point where the poo was left for 48 hours appears to have been etched / sandpapered !!
I hadn't realised that seagull poo coul be so acidic ?

I use a small spray bottle with warm water to soften the pooh then careful remove with a wet antiseptic wipe or hose down or us pressure washer. Dont wipe hard as it can scratch the paint work

I always remove as soon as I see it and have wipes in car for such a reason

Autoglym is good polish I use to to get a shine and use a wax once a year to protect the car which lasts a long time

Does the SRP stand for "Siht removing Polish?

If the poo has etched into the paint then SRP won't cut it, it isn't heavy duty enough.

Ask the question on Detailing World and you will get better answers.

i got hit from a great height about 2 weeks ago i washed all the cars in my bomb site straight away as modern cars specifically anything korean have such thin paint water based followed by the lightest of lacquers that anything longer than an hour or two can indeed cause the lacquer to be compromised to the point only a repaint would restore order

modern car paint is crap as was the substance
