Carpet Laying

I'm providing all the carpet, and the man who came today suggested I leave all the grippers and underlay down. He has not got back to me yet as to how much to lay just the carpet (carpets will be ripped up, so it is literally just laying the carpets).
The rooms are:-
Two large rooms (4m x 4.5m ish)
One small room (2m x 2.5m ish)
Landing and Staircase
I have no clue as to how much to even expect.
What is reasonable?

Working for a shop they are lucky to get £2.50 a m2 flat ft and £5.50 stairs and landings.
Carpet fitters are not in short supply, so work on those rates.
It a days work, so at about £150 thats a good days pay for a carpet fitter .I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -

Thank you. I've been quoted £319 and he will reuse the underlay and grippers.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Its on the mark.
There will be two of them. Stairs will take the time, but it will probably take half a day.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
£319 ?
Very steep indeed, get some more quotes, its a days work for a good fitter, half a day for two, gripper and underlay still down ?
