Executor taking his time!

Hi,

FIL passed away in 2013. The assets were sold in 2014 and the estate was calculated with the correct IHT paid in 2015.

The solicitors say its all ready but it is being held up by someone - the executor.

He is taking ages to sort this out, he is charging for his time and he is keeping everyone in the dark as to how long it will take.

Is there anywhere I can find law/rules on being an executor online? I want to write him a letter asking why it is taking so long, a detailed account of all expenses and tell him what he can and can't claim for.

I wouldn't normally ask for so much help but this is such a difficult matter and it is causing tensions in the family, mostly because he is the FIL's brother.

Thanks for any help anyone can give.

(Sorry, I know this isn't meant to be here but I am so stressed about it and feel so helpless on the subject I wanted to get it as much views as possible)
