Investec account opening UK or SA?

Options
Does anyone have any experience opening an account with them despite earning under £75,000 per year as I was hoping to open an account with them for the international benefits but as I don't earn £75,000 per year, I have a feeling I'll be turned down unless I can do something similar to what you can do with other accounts and transfer in the required amounts each month which I don't think is possible.

So yes, anyone have experience with Investec and how lenient they are so long as you're willing to pay the £120 per year fee? What about doing it through South Africa instead?

I'm with Investec. Your best off giving them a call. Are you close to the £75,000 income?

The international benefits are ok but the account has some disadvantages. For example you get a deferred debit card which is classed as a credit card for most retailers. I booked a holiday earlier in the year and there was a charge for payment by credit card (This is my only card with Investec) so I had to transfer the funds to my Natwest account in order to pay which is a bit of a faff. £10/month fee which gives 24 hour call centre and email to a relationship manager who is good at answering. On transferring money between accounts, it doesn't transfer over the weekend or outside working hours which also is a bit of a pain.
