Planning a holiday to Cuba

I would like to visit Cuba, some time between October 2016 and June 2017. I do love beach holidays and snorkeling but would like to see some of the culture.

Has anyone got any advice or tips on best times to travel, who to travel with and location. Any other information would be welcomed eg, best and worst bits, what to be aware of.

Thanks

Do you like all inclusive package holidays?

Yes I'm happy to go all inclusive and like to be as close to the beach and sea as we can. I enjoy the pool and like a bit of sight seeing but I'm a bit of a lazy holiday maker and more than happy to lie in the sun and not go too far to hunt my food :o

Look at the all inclusive package holidays with excursions to Havanna, Virgin Holidays website may be worth a browse to get an idea.

Great idea to get there before the Americans saturate the place following Obama's initiative to soften the US embargo!
And it seems a pity only to go to the holiday beach ghettos for rich foreigners... we went with http://holidayplace.co.uk/ a few years ago and they tailored a package including our friends' recommendation- hotel Santa Isabella in old Havana- fantastic place and much better than the crumbling tower block hotels in the new town

I highly recommend holidayplace.co.uk We went to Cuba last year and noone could touch them for price. We did a multicentre and stayed in Havana first then moved to a beach hotel in Varadero. It was all inclusive in Varadero and I think Havana was bed and breakfast which was fine as with trips out we ate out anyway and it wasnt expensive.

Another vote for holidayplace.co.uk, we booked with them for our honeymoon to Cuba Nov 14 & they were fantastic, upgraded our hotel & very flexible with our itinary We stayed 5 nights in Havana, 2 in Trinidad, & 7 in Veradero. Havana & Trinidad were b&b, which was great to try some of the fantastic local restaurants, Veradero was all-inclusive.

Thank you, I had never heard of this company. Looking through there seems to be quite a difference between the 4 and 5 star hotels in Cuba, does any one know if this is true?
