Fridge in front of radiator
Options
Hi
Hoping for some advice - need to reshuffle the layout of my kitchen to get full use of a tall walk in cupboard but only way I can think of would be to reposition the fridge freezer so that it stands in front of the small radiator - can anyone advise if this is safe to do?
Thanks
Katyk

Hi,
I would reckon it would be safe enough, but your fridge freezer will need to work harder because of heat from radiator.0 -
How far from radiator would I need to put it do you think?0

Hi,
oh gosh, don't know.
I would think that radiator will not be used much shortly, if weather ever gets warmer, so as a short term solution will be fine, and give you time to think of an alternative.
If you have a garage you could put it in there, though not ideal to be running in and out for the milk.0 -
I would close off the radiator valve to make it redundant, particularly that it would serve no purpose once tucked behind the fridge\freezer.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Agree with MB above, shut off the radiatorEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

When we fitted a new kitchen we actually removed a radiator from it as it was taking up too much useful space, we have never missed it as the room never gets that cold.0

We had our only radiator removed too(at the time the boiler and new radiators were fitted) ,so we an have more cupboards in the new kitchen layout.
For the odd times that the kitchen has been cold, over winter, we have used a portable oil filled radiator, which can go in a walk in cupboard or the garage, when not needed.0 -
We also had our radiator removed when we completely remodelled the kitchen. Did have a fan heater installed under the new island we had put in, but in 8 years have only ever switched it on to see if it still worked - and blow the dust out.

As others have said, I got rid of the radiator too. My kitchen is south facing so it is one of the warmest rooms anyway. If it is cold, it only stays that way for a few minutes when I start cooking.0
