prime location services ??

Hello

Has anybody ever had any dealings with prime location services? i received a letter this morning stating it was urgent for me to contact them. When i rang the company he refused to give me any information on a third party who was trying to contact me until i gave him the correct house number to a street that i lived on 7 years ago. He was rude on the phone and claimed i was 'hiding' and that i signed a legal agreement to inform the 'client' (who i am still unaware of!) when i moved and where too. This choice of words is bizarre, and if it was a landlord/tenant issue that would make sense however when i left the said property i did a house swap with one of the other landlords tenants, so he would of known the address after this, plus there was never an issue with the landlord.

I'm worried if i give them my details that they could be passed on to others who are in the scamming business? Has anyone had dealings with this company before?

Thank you

from this point forward do not discuss anything with them via phone.

see this article, before making any steps checking your credit file for any references from debt collections etc.

they basically have to prove it but you have to make sure you are not acknowledging the debt or not making a payment for it.

if it's over 6 years it's statute barred and they cannot enforce it.
  • Hi,

I had the same letter last week from Prime Location Services, Unit 2c, Cartwright Court, Huddersfield, HD2 1GN.

There's no info around about them. The address appears to be associated with "Columbus Investigations Limited" - there's little around about these either.

Back to the letter, it gives a company registration number of 01683187. Doing a search on "company registration number check 01683187" comes up with GLOBAL DR LTD (globaldebtrecovery dot com - as a new user I can't give full URL) a debt recovery company based in New Malden Kent?

I've received one of these letters this morning and am very worried about it. I've never owed money in my life (other than my mortgage which I've always paid on time), but in the past have had dealings with bailiffs for debts for which I have no knowledge at all, and I can say the experience was not good !!

Does this company only deal with debt collections? Are they legit or scammers? Can I just ignore the letter and it'll go away (not what I like to do but if it's scammers?)?

Looks like they're a tracing company, although I do have some concerns with them stating they'll trace anyone for anyone, giving the details with seemingly no questions asked.

Prove it letter may be the way to go.

I wonder if this particular example of scum is afforded the privilege of being able to access CRA data? I suppose they can.

You can ignore the letter. Such agencies have been known to send out the same letter to everyone with the same or similar sounding names in the hope that someone fronts up money in fear.

If the debt they mention is over seven years old, it is statute-barred and they cannot bring any legal proceedings on it. If they do not have any details of you, it is up to them to prove the debt exists and is yours, not for you to prove it isn't. Personally, I'd ignore them until they present anything that has a fact worth discussing.
